Sometimes the better decision is not the obvious one. I worked with the CFO of a public listed company who was offered the position of CEO by the board. It was a very attractive offer – the status, the compensation, the doors that would open to further career, leadership and business opportunities. It should have been an easy yes. Yet, she was hesitating. Her husband and close circle of friends encouraged her to take the offer. Especially as she had successfully negotiated a
